Akuroku Chance 1

I silently waited in front of my house with my luggage.  Axel had just called and said he was going to pick me up and bring me to the house.  Fortunately, I was leaving when my parents were out at work and there would be no teary goodbyes.  I really didn't see the need for a goodbye.  Our house was about an hour away and when Axel would be working at the shop, he would 15 minutes from his own house.

I sighed as I saw Axel riding down the street in his pick-up.  I threw all my things, except my guitar, which I kept in the front seat with me despite how much tighter it was in the car now.  Axel kissed my cheek and put the car in drive.

Axel drove down quiet out of the way streets.  It was a long, straight road that ran parellel with the river, which could be seen behind a thin line of trees.  I had not been to the house yet so I was concentrating more on my thoughts then the road.  Suddenly, Axel pulled over and put the car in park. I looked up.

"Did we go the wrong way or something?"

Axel shook his head, "You nervous?"

"A little," I said truthfully.

"Don't be."  He kissed my forehead and then reached over to put on the radio.  

After a good station was found, Axel started to drive again.  He gave me a side glance, "We have to pick up Riku and Sora, too."

"I hope you cleaned out the back good.  I don't wan them getting dirty."

"It's be fine."

After about a mile, we came upon Sora and Riku walking down the roadside.  Sora saw us first and gave a hitch-hiking sign.  Riku laughed and jumped up with Sora onto the back of the truck.  I opened up the back window to talk to the them.

"Hi, there," Sora said, cutely.

Riku nodded towards me and sat down.  He quickly made sure Sora remained seated for the rest of the drive.

As we rounded the first corner we'd seen in a long time, a large light green house showed itself.  

"Here we are," Axel announced.

The house was on a hill and from the outside it seemed to be two stories.  The road turned slowly in to gravel as we went closer.  A fork in the road was now visible.  Axel took the larger road which lead to a garage....not a very big one, though.  I smiled nervously at Axel.

"Don't worry, the house does not look like this."

Sora spoke up, "It's really white and shiny!"

We got out of the car, grabbing our luggage.

Sora took my hand tightly as I was reaching for the door that lead into the house from the garage.

"What?" I asked, softly.

"It's better if we go in the front way."

"...okay."

I let Sora lead the way outside the garage.  We walked the shortest route to the house, ignoring the pathway.   Riku took out the keys and unlocked the door.  I walked inside first.  Sora had given a pretty good desription.  The walls were very white....and the light wood on the floor were shiny.

Sora kicked off his shoes behind me, dropped his bags and began to slide with socks on the smooth floor.  Riku protectively followed him whereever he slid.  Axel hugged me from behind scaring me.  

"Sorry," he laughed.

"I'm gonna go check the place out by myself, kay?"

Axel nodded,"I'll get your stuff upstairs...with mine."  He quickly dashed away.

It took me a moment to understand what he meant.....If our stuff was together that meant we were sleeping in the same room...in the same bed??

Sora saw my concern and slid over, "Don't worry, Rox.  Me and Riku got the queen bed.  You guys got the bunks.....we can trade if you want."

"No, thank you, that's okay."

Sora giggled, "Now I can snuggle with Riku!"  He slid on the floor and jumped onto Riku, who yelped and turned red.

I laughed, slightly and began to walk around.  The front room seemed to be a livingroom of sorts and a large spiral staircase stood in the middle of it.  I made a right and found a kitchen.  It was a soft green and I saw that a door there lead to the garage.  On the other side of the livingroom was more a livingroom, with a couch and T.V and a small half bathroom.  

I slowly went up the spiral staircase, staring at Riku and Sora running around below.  The top floor seemed smaller, with three doors at the landing.  On the doors to my right and left, they were marked with our names, obviously our bedrooms, but I was more interest with the  extra door.  I opened the door, thinking it was just a closet but to my surprise it was a flight of stairs.  It was dark and I couldn't see anything.

"That's the attic."

I jumped and twirled around to see Axel and gave a sigh, "Don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry."

I looked back at the stairs, "What's up there?"

"Nothing now.  But I'd like it to be a studio or something...."

"That's a good idea..."

There was silence for a moment, then Axel spoke up,"You see the bedroom yet?"  He raised an eyebrow and touched my thigh.

"No, ...but I think it's important that we unpack."

"You won't wanna pack after you see our bathroom.  I might have given up spooning with you in the bed, but we can probably do all that stuff in the tub, cause it's huge!"

I laughed.  A bath sounded nice right about now.........
